| Plan-status reading | Read the status from the County's own decision records, in sequence. At the April 23, 2025 special Council meeting the County records First Reading of an amended Bylaw C-8588-2024 together with a referral and a motion directing work on road access from parcels adjacent to the municipal boundary. The County's Council-decisions record for June 17, 2025 then states that Council voted to approve Bylaw C-8588-2024, repealing the existing Bearspaw Area Structure Plan Bylaw C-4129-93, adopting the new Bearspaw Area Structure Plan, and repealing the Ascension Conceptual Scheme Bylaw C-7991-2020, with the bylaw including the amendments approved at the April 23, 2025 public hearing. The new plan is therefore adopted; the County's own ASP index and the published plan PDF remain the place to check for any later amendment before relying on a policy provision. | Foothills County publishes the Heritage Pointe ASP document and, separately, a Heritage Pointe Stage III Area Structure Plan resource page. Treat them as two documents with two mapped extents. Ask the County which plan and which stage covers the parcel's legal description before applying any policy from either. | Two things are true at once and must be kept separate. The Greater Bragg Creek Area Structure Plan is the document the County currently publishes from its ASP index, together with its appendices including the Hamlet of Bragg Creek Design Standards. Separately, the County is running an update to the Bragg Creek ASP: its engagement page records that the third and final phase of engagement, including an open house and a written feedback period, closed on June 30, 2026, with the project team compiling feedback and preparing the plan for presentation to Council in fall 2026. A draft under engagement is not adopted policy. |
